In May 2013 a group of 7 MGs and a support vehicle with trailer took on a 2 week tour of Zimbabwe via Botswana.
Highlights included the Chobe Elephants; a very wet Victoria Falls rainforest; fun on the Mlibizi Ferry; Meikles Hotel classic service is back; scrumptious dinner in Harare with local car enthusiasts at Alo Alo Restaurant, the Leopard Rock Golf Course spectacular with Aloes in bloom; the unique architecture at the Lodge at the Ancient City but TOP of the List was Inn on Rupurara ... though the rustic road tested the little cars, we award full marks for bedrooms, cleanliness, friendly service, great food.

 The annual Borrowdale Craft Fair is one of the highlights of the Harare social calendar and it's also a great venue for finding out about a great many products and services available in the city and around the country.
As in the past couple of years, Best of Zimbabwe will have a display marquee and inside will be exhibits from a number of BoZ members, who will have staff on hand to discuss rates, bookings, specials and what's on offer from affiliates of the grouping from various parts of Zimbabwe.
This will take place on Sunday June 30 from 9am to 4pm. Entry is $2, while pensioners and children are $1. There's food and drinks on sale and the fair is generally a great social occasion, so here's looking forward to seeing you there this year! |

 Jabulani have had a very exciting and action packed month this May. We exhibited at the Indaba Travel Show in Durban earlier in the month. The event was a great success and it was very exciting to be a part of it! We shared a stand with Imire, Musango and Zimbabwe Destinations. We were in the SADC tent and it was a buzz! SADC was by far the most popular hall at the event. It was so positive to see that there was a lot of enthusiasm for all things Zimbabwean. This August, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Livingstone in Zambia are co-hosting the United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Assembly. This event is set to help promote Zimbabwe even further, we look forward to being a part of the activity. We also had a very busy month with a number of school trips who came to stay. All school groups had an action packed time as we kept them busy with an eco-adventure tourism encompassed programme. Jabulani is the ideal venue for school trips and team building activities. We definitely recommend a visit!

A
dance and song extravaganza directed by Michelle Nativel (well-known as one of Zimbabwe's leading dancers and a teacher and dancer with June Cloete's Academy). This features several singers and almost a dozen dancers and will be both exciting and entertaining, It runs for only a few performances - then Thurs June 6 to Sat June 8 (7pm each night plus matinee sat 2.30pm) on the Main Stage. The National Ballet's 2013 season is a specially-created ballet with a difference, and in the wake of their success with their HIFA show it will well worth seeing. It will run in the first week of July on the Main Stage.
The Sound Of Music - July 18 to August 3
Sue Bolt is directing this family favourite, back by popular demand and starring Christina Jenkins and Marc Thomas. It will entertain everyone, from those folk who have seen it many times before to the new generation who have not yet experienced this Rogers and Hammerstein gem. Advance booking is open already and we are delighted it is getting good support so far ahead of its run.
In Theatre Upstairs we are having another movie fortnight in July, this time with week one featuring Oscar Wilde movies and the second week a selection of musical biopics. The Oscar Wilde movies include The Importance Of Being Earnest (a schools set book this year and next), three of his other plays, a documentary about him and the 1990s film about him starring Stephen Fry, simply called Wilde. The biopics include La Bamba (about Richie Valens), Sweet Dreams (Patsy Cline), Star! (Gertrude Lawrence, Funny Girl (Fanny Brice), Walk The Line (Johnny Cash), De-Lovely (Cole Porter) and Ray (Ray Charles). There will be season tickets for those people who want to see everything, as some did last year with the Marilyn Monroe festival.
